Customer Terms & Conditions
Last updated: October 27, 2026 · Binding on Customer accounts on Maurya Service
1. Agreement & acceptance
These Customer Terms & Conditions (“Customer Terms”, “Agreement”) form a binding contract between you (“Customer”, “you”, “your”) and the operator of Maurya Service (“we”, “us”, “our”, “Maurya Service”).
You accept this Agreement when you:
- create or use a Customer account on our website, progressive web app (PWA), or related channels;
- place a rental order, service booking, or payment through the platform; or
- continue using the platform after we publish updates to these Customer Terms.
If you do not agree, you must not register or use Maurya Service as a Customer. Where an order confirmation, invoice, product page, or checkout screen shows additional terms (tenure, deposit, delivery slot, AutoPay mandate, cancellation window), those disclosures apply together with this Agreement and our platform policies.
Nothing in this Agreement limits your non-waivable rights under applicable Indian consumer protection law, including the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 and rules thereunder, where they apply to you as a consumer.
2. Definitions
- Platform — the Maurya Service website, PWA, admin-facing customer tools, and related digital interfaces operated by us.
- Customer — an individual or authorised representative of a household who registers or transacts as an end user for personal/domestic use (not as a Vendor or Technician).
- Vendor — an independent rental partner who lists and fulfils product rentals through the marketplace.
- Technician — an independent service partner who accepts repair and home-service jobs through the marketplace.
- Order / Booking — a confirmed rental request or service appointment created through the platform after applicable payment or confirmation steps.
- Rental Period / Tenure — the agreed duration for which a product is rented, as shown at checkout and on your order/invoice.
- Security Deposit — a refundable amount held against damage, loss, unpaid dues, or missing accessories, as disclosed on the product page.
- AutoPay / ECS / e-Mandate / UPI Autopay — standing payment authorisations for recurring monthly rent debits, governed by our AutoPay terms and RBI/NPCI rules.
- MS Invoice / MS Number — tax/commercial documents issued by Maurya Service for platform charges, with unique reference numbers for support and accounting.
- Serviceable Area — pin codes or geographic zones where vendors or technicians are available, based on your saved location.
3. Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years of age and competent to contract under the Indian Contract Act, 1872.
- You must provide accurate, current identity and contact information. We may verify phone numbers via OTP and request additional details for high-value orders or fraud prevention.
- You represent that you have authority to receive deliveries/installations at the address provided and to permit vendor/technician access for fulfilment.
- Corporate or bulk orders may require separate written approval; consumer protections apply to qualifying consumer transactions.
- We may refuse registration or orders where eligibility checks fail, service is unavailable in your area, or we reasonably suspect misuse.
4. Account & security
- You are responsible for safeguarding login credentials, OTP access to your registered mobile number, and any linked payment instruments.
- Activity under your account is presumed authorised by you unless you promptly notify us of unauthorised access.
- Keep your profile, delivery address, phone, and email updated so partners can reach you and invoices/reminders are delivered correctly.
- One person should not share accounts across unrelated households where it affects billing, deposit recovery, or service history.
- We may require re-verification after suspicious activity, device changes, or mandate registration for AutoPay.
- You must not impersonate another person, use false documents, or create duplicate accounts to evade blocks, deposits, or dues.
5. Marketplace role of Maurya Service
Maurya Service operates as an online marketplace and intermediary under applicable Indian law (including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and rules thereunder, where relevant). We:
- display listings, pricing, availability, and plan benefits supplied by vendors or configured by us;
- facilitate discovery, checkout, scheduling, payments, invoices, reminders, and customer support workflows;
- assign or route orders to available vendors/technicians based on location, stock, and operational rules; and
- provide dispute assistance within platform policies, without assuming every obligation of the fulfilment partner.
Unless explicitly stated on an order, the Vendor is responsible for the rented product’s condition, lawful ownership/ right to rent, delivery quality, and return inspection standards; the Technician is responsible for on-site workmanship, parts used, and safety during service. We are not the manufacturer of rented goods and do not guarantee uninterrupted third-party networks (banks, UPI, maps, SMS gateways).
Product images, specifications, energy ratings, and “from” service prices are informational. Minor cosmetic variations between units of the same model category may occur where not material to function.
6. Product rentals
This section applies to ACs, refrigerators, water purifiers, washing machines, microwaves, and related rental SKUs offered on the platform.
6.1 Tenure & plan types
- Rental tenure (e.g. monthly rolling, fixed months, prepaid bundle) is as selected at checkout and reflected on your order summary.
- Plan benefits (free relocation windows, early-return rules, Secure/protection fees) are those disclosed on the product/plan page at the time of booking.
- Extensions may be offered in-app subject to vendor availability and updated pricing; failure to extend or pay may trigger return/recovery steps.
6.2 Security deposit
- A refundable security deposit may be charged upfront. The deposit is collected and held by the Platform / admin (not remitted to the Vendor as earnings). Amount and refund timeline follow our Refund Policy and return inspection outcome.
- Deposit may be adjusted against unpaid rent, damage, missing remote/filters/accessories, cleaning charges, or recovery costs disclosed with reasons.
- Fair wear and tear from normal domestic use is not charged; negligent misuse, tampering, pest/water damage, or missing units may be charged at repair/replacement cost.
6.3 Delivery, installation & accessories
- Delivery and installation charges, time slots, and stair/lift constraints are shown at checkout. You must provide safe access, power/water points as required, and an adult present for handover.
- Standard installation covers normal wall/window mounting or placement as per vendor scope; civil/electrical/plumbing alterations beyond scope may incur extra charges with your consent.
- Remotes, stands, filters, and other listed accessories must be returned with the product unless otherwise agreed.
6.4 Fair use & care
- Use products only for intended domestic purposes at the registered address unless relocation is approved.
- Follow manufacturer care instructions; do not remove labels/serial stickers, open sealed units, or modify wiring/refrigerant circuits.
- Report defects, leaks, unusual noise, or performance issues promptly via the app so warranty/ service steps can be arranged.
6.5 Damage, loss & theft
- You are responsible for the product while it is in your custody during the rental period, subject to fair wear exceptions.
- Theft, fire, or catastrophic damage should be reported immediately to us and, where appropriate, to police; insurance/ Secure benefits apply only as explicitly purchased and disclosed.
6.6 Early return
- Early return may be allowed under plan rules. Minimum tenure charges, pickup fees, or benefit forfeitures disclosed at booking may apply.
- Pickup is scheduled after clearance of pending rent and confirmation of return window; prepare the product for inspection and accessory checklist.
6.7 Relocation
- Intra-city relocation within serviceable limits may be included or chargeable per plan. Out-of-area moves may require return and re-order.
- Relocation requests must be raised in advance; dismantling/re-installation quality depends on site readiness and partner availability.
7. Monthly rent & AutoPay / ECS / UPI / Card
For monthly rental plans, recurring rent (and disclosed recurring fees forming part of the instalment) may be collected by:
- payment reminders with Razorpay checkout links; and/or
- AutoPay via bank ECS/NACH, card e-mandate, or UPI Autopay after you register a mandate.
By enabling AutoPay you authorise debits within the approved maximum amount and frequency, subject to pre-debit notifications where required by RBI/NPCI/your issuer. Detailed rules are in our dedicated policies:
Cancelling AutoPay does not cancel the rental or waive unpaid rent. Failed debits may attract reminders, late fees (if disclosed on your schedule), suspension of benefits, or return initiation per cancellation/refund policies.
8. Home services & repairs
- Service categories (e.g. AC repair, plumbing, appliance service) may show indicative “from” pricing; final charges can change after on-site diagnosis with your consent for parts/add-ons.
- We assign jobs to available technicians in your serviceable radius; ETA windows are estimates and may shift due to traffic, prior jobs, or parts availability.
- You must provide accurate address, floor/access instructions, parking permissions, and a contactable phone number at visit time.
- Ensure pets, children, and hazardous areas are managed; technicians may refuse unsafe work environments.
- Parts warranty or rework commitments, if any, are as disclosed by the technician/brand at service completion; platform support may assist with ticket-based resolution.
- Pay-after-visit or prepaid modes depend on service type and checkout options shown at booking.
- Repeat visits for issues attributable to initial workmanship may be eligible for rework under partner policy; cosmetic or unrelated faults may be chargeable.
9. Payments, invoices (MS numbers) & taxes
- All amounts are in Indian Rupees (INR) unless stated otherwise. GST and other applicable taxes are charged as displayed at checkout or on tax invoices.
- For home services, you pay the service amount plus applicable GST. Platform fees and GST are settled between the Platform and partners as per partner agreements; your checkout total is the amount due.
- For rentals, you pay rental charges, applicable GST, and any refundable security deposit shown at checkout. The security deposit is held by the Platform until return inspection / refund.
- Payments are processed through approved gateways (e.g. Razorpay) and/or internal wallet balance where enabled. We do not store full card numbers on our servers.
- An order is confirmed only after successful payment (or explicit COD / pay-after-visit selection where offered and accepted).
- Invoices and credit notes may carry Maurya Service reference numbers (“MS” prefixes or similar) for rent, platform fees, delivery, Secure charges, and service bookings. Retain them for tax and support reference.
- If you require a GSTIN on invoice, provide valid details before payment where the checkout supports it; retroactive changes may not always be possible after filing periods.
- Chargebacks or payment disputes on valid, fulfilled orders should be raised with us first; improper chargebacks may lead to account suspension and recovery action.
- Promotional credits, referral rewards, or membership discounts apply only per published campaign rules and may be revoked on abuse.
10. Location & serviceability
- Catalogue availability, delivery fees, and technician coverage depend on your saved pin code / map location.
- Set location before browsing and checkout. Orders placed with incorrect locations may be cancelled or delayed; rescheduling fees may apply.
- GPS or map picks should correspond to the actual service address; repeated mismatches may trigger verification holds.
- We may expand or shrink service areas without prior notice; existing confirmed orders are honoured subject to partner capacity.
11. Reviews & communications
- We and our partners may contact you via SMS, WhatsApp, email, push notifications, or phone for OTPs, order updates, delivery coordination, payment reminders, and support.
- Marketing messages are sent only where permitted by law and your preferences; you may opt out of non-essential marketing without affecting transactional messages.
- Ratings and reviews must be honest, relevant, and free of abusive, discriminatory, or defamatory content. We may moderate or remove content that violates policy or third-party rights.
- By submitting feedback, you grant us a non-exclusive licence to display and use it for quality improvement and marketing, anonymised where appropriate.
12. Prohibited conduct
You must not:
- make fake bookings, payment test abuse, or chargeback fraud;
- harass, threaten, or discriminate against vendors, technicians, or support staff;
- sublet, lend, or commercially exploit rented products without authorisation;
- scrape, reverse engineer, or overload platform systems;
- upload malware, attempt unauthorised access, or bypass security controls;
- use the platform for unlawful purposes or in violation of housing society rules that you are responsible for securing;
- solicit partners off-platform to evade fees, deposits, or safety processes (“platform circumvention”).
Violations may result in immediate suspension, cancellation without refund where permitted by law, deposit forfeiture, and legal remedies.
13. Intellectual property
- The Maurya Service name, logos, UI, software, and content are owned by us or our licensors. You receive a limited, revocable licence to use the platform for personal transactions.
- You may not copy, frame, or resell platform content except as allowed by law or with written consent.
- Vendor/brand trademarks on product pages belong to their respective owners and are displayed for identification only.
14. Suspension & termination
- You may stop using the platform at any time; outstanding rent, deposits under inspection, or open service disputes must still be settled.
- We may suspend or terminate Customer access for policy breaches, repeated payment defaults, safety concerns, or legal requirements.
- Upon termination, AutoPay mandates should be cancelled per AutoPay terms; we may initiate product pickup for active rentals with due notice where applicable.
- Sections that by nature should survive (payments, liability limits, indemnity, dispute resolution, governing law) continue after termination.
15. Limitation of liability & indemnity
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- Maurya Service is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses (including loss of profit, data, or goodwill) arising from platform use.
- Our aggregate liability for a claim relating to a specific order or booking is limited to the amount you paid through the platform for that order/booking (excluding refundable deposits held for adjustment and amounts remitted directly to partners where disclosed).
- We do not warrant uninterrupted, error-free operation of third-party networks, payment systems, or partner schedules.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Maurya Service, its affiliates, and personnel against claims, penalties, and reasonable costs arising from your breach of this Agreement, misuse of rented products, false information, or violation of law—except to the extent caused by our own gross negligence or wilful misconduct where such limitation is not permitted.
Nothing here excludes liability that cannot be excluded under Indian consumer protection or other mandatory law.
16. Force majeure
We and our partners are not in breach for delays or failures caused by events beyond reasonable control, including natural disasters, epidemics, government orders, strikes, utility outages, war, civil unrest, or severe telecom/payment network failures. During such events we will use reasonable efforts to notify you and offer rescheduling, credits, or refunds where feasible under our policies.
17. Dispute resolution
- Support first: For billing, delivery, service quality, deposit, or mandate issues, contact us via in-app help, email, or phone with your order/MS reference. Many disputes resolve through tickets, photos, and partner callbacks.
- Consumer remedies: If you qualify as a consumer under applicable law, you may also use consumer grievance channels, including consumer commissions, where available.
- Courts: Subject to mandatory consumer forum jurisdiction, you agree that courts at New Delhi, India (including courts having jurisdiction over our registered office area) shall have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes not amicably resolved, without prejudice to your right to file at your place of residence where consumer law allows.
18. Governing law
This Agreement is governed by the laws of India. Interpretation and enforcement respect the Information Technology Act, 2000, Consumer Protection Act, 2019, Indian Contract Act, 1872, Payment and Settlement Systems Act, 2007 (for payment mandates), and other applicable central/state laws.
19. Changes to terms
We may update these Customer Terms to reflect legal, product, or operational changes. The “Last updated” date on this page will change. Material changes may be notified via email, SMS, or in-app notice where appropriate. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance. If you disagree, stop using the platform and close open obligations.
