Technician Terms & Conditions

Last updated: October 28, 2026 · Binding on Technician / Service Provider accounts on Maurya Service

Service Provider agreement: These Terms apply in addition to our Platform Terms and Technician Privacy Policy. By registering as a Technician, accepting a job, or continuing to use the Technician app / dashboard, you agree to be bound by this agreement.

1. Acceptance of Service Provider Agreement

These Technician Terms & Conditions (“Technician Terms”, “Agreement”) form a binding contract between you (“Technician”, “Service Provider”, “you”) and the operator of Maurya Service (“Maurya Service”, “Platform”, “we”, “us”).

You accept this Agreement when you:

  • Complete Technician registration or KYC on the Platform;
  • Tick an acceptance checkbox or sign an onboarding form referencing these Terms;
  • Accept, start, or complete any job assigned or offered through the Platform; or
  • Continue to access the Technician dashboard, partner app, or job notifications after we publish an updated version.

If you do not agree, you must not register as a Technician or accept Platform-originated jobs. Your relationship with end customers for jobs booked through Maurya Service is governed by this Agreement, applicable Platform policies, and any job-specific instructions shown in the app.

2. Definitions

  • Customer — a person or entity that books a home service or repair through the Platform.
  • Job / Booking — a service request assigned or offered to you via the Platform, including visit time, address, service category, and quoted scope.
  • Platform-originated job — any job first discovered, booked, paid, or managed through Maurya Service, including rebookings initiated via Platform channels within the non-solicitation period.
  • Rate card — Platform-published or approved pricing for labour, visit charges, standard tasks, and add-ons for your service category and city.
  • Diagnosis / quote — your assessment of the issue and proposed charges before additional work or parts beyond the initial booking scope.
  • Proof of service — photos, OTP verification, digital checklist, or other evidence required by the Platform to mark a job complete.
  • Settlement — transfer of your eligible earnings (after Platform fees, adjustments, or chargebacks) to your registered bank account or wallet.
  • Off-platform — any arrangement, payment, or service delivery outside Maurya Service’s booking, payment, or communication flows.

3. Eligibility, skills, KYC, tools & insurance

  • You must be 18 years or older, legally able to contract in India, and authorised to perform the services you offer.
  • You must provide accurate identity and KYC documents (e.g. Aadhaar, PAN, address proof, photograph) and keep them current. We may verify documents directly or through third-party verification partners.
  • You must truthfully declare your skills, certifications, trade licences (where applicable), and service categories (e.g. AC repair, plumbing, appliance service, water purifier, electrical). Misrepresentation may lead to immediate suspension.
  • You are responsible for maintaining professional tools, safety equipment, and consumables needed for your trade, unless the Platform explicitly supplies them for a specific job.
  • You should maintain adequate insurance (e.g. public liability or workmen compensation, where relevant to your trade). While not always mandatory, we strongly recommend coverage because you bear on-site risk as an independent contractor.
  • You must set an accurate service radius / availability and respond promptly when online. Repeated unavailability after accepting jobs may affect your rating and account standing.
  • We may approve, reject, or place your profile in pending status until KYC and skill verification is complete.

4. Independent contractor (not employee)

You are an independent contractor, not an employee, agent, partner, or franchisee of Maurya Service. Nothing in this Agreement creates an employment relationship under any labour or social-security law.

  • You control how you perform agreed services, subject to customer safety, Platform quality standards, and applicable law.
  • You are free to accept or decline job offers, subject to SLA and cancellation rules in Section 5.
  • You are responsible for your own taxes, GST registration (if applicable), professional licences, and statutory compliances.
  • You may not represent yourself as an employee of Maurya Service or bind us to contracts with customers or suppliers without written authorisation.
  • Customers engage you for on-site workmanship; the Platform facilitates discovery, booking, communication, payments, and dispute support.

5. Job offers, acceptance SLAs, no-shows & cancellations

  • Jobs may be offered, auto-assigned, or broadcast based on location, skill match, availability, ratings, and Platform rules.
  • When a job is offered, you must accept or decline within the SLA shown in the app (e.g. within a few minutes for urgent jobs, or by a stated cutoff for scheduled visits). Ignoring offers may reduce future assignments.
  • After acceptance, you must arrive within the scheduled window, call/message the customer through Platform channels where enabled, and update status (en route, started, completed) honestly.
  • No-shows (failure to attend without valid notice), repeated late arrivals, or abandoning a job mid-service may attract penalties, customer compensation debits, temporary suspension, or permanent deactivation.
  • If you must cancel, notify the Platform and customer as early as possible through the app. Last-minute Technician cancellations may be treated as no-shows unless caused by documented emergencies (accident, severe illness, force majeure).
  • Customer cancellations follow our Cancellation Policy. You may receive partial visit fees or cancellation payouts only where the Platform policy and job stage allow.
  • You must not reassign a Platform job to another person without Platform approval and customer notification. Subcontractors, if permitted, remain your responsibility.

6. On-site conduct, ID, safety & customer premises

  • Present yourself professionally: clean attire, valid ID, and Platform badge / profile if issued. Introduce yourself by name and confirm the booking reference.
  • Respect the customer’s home or premises: use shoe covers where appropriate, protect floors and furniture, and clean your work area before leaving.
  • Follow safe work practices — isolate power/gas where needed, use ladders and tools correctly, and comply with applicable electrical, plumbing, and appliance safety norms.
  • No harassment, discrimination, abusive language, smoking, alcohol, or illegal activity on customer premises or in Platform communications.
  • Do not enter restricted areas, use customer Wi‑Fi/devices, or consume food unless the customer permits.
  • Do not bring unauthorised persons to the visit. Minors must not accompany you on jobs unless legally required and disclosed.
  • Report safety hazards, suspected fraud, or abusive behaviour to Platform support promptly rather than escalating conflict on-site.
  • You must comply with housing society / RWA rules communicated by the customer (visitor entry, parking, work timings).

7. Quotes, diagnosis & parts consent before extra charges

  • Initial booking prices may be “from” or standard visit rates. Final charges can differ after on-site diagnosis.
  • Before performing work or installing parts beyond the booked scope, you must explain the issue, provide a clear quote (labour + parts + taxes as applicable), and obtain explicit customer consent in the app, OTP flow, or signed/photographed approval where enabled.
  • Do not start additional chargeable work if the customer refuses. You may charge only diagnostic / visit fees allowed by the Rate card and job stage.
  • Use Platform-approved flows for adding line items, spare parts, and discounts. Manual cash demands for undeclared extras violate Platform rules.
  • If a repair is not feasible or needs specialist follow-up, document the finding with photos/notes and close the job accurately so the customer can rebook or escalate.

8. Workmanship quality, rework window & proof of service

  • Perform services with reasonable skill and care consistent with trade standards in India’s home-services market.
  • Where the Platform defines a rework / warranty window (e.g. 7–30 days on labour for specific categories), you must honour free rework for the same reported issue if the failure is due to your workmanship and not customer misuse, third-party tampering, or unrelated faults.
  • Upload before/after photos, serial numbers, readings, or checklist items when the app requires them. Failure to provide proof may delay settlement or affect dispute outcomes.
  • Complete OTP or digital completion verification only after the agreed scope is done and the customer confirms satisfaction (or after documented refusal following good-faith completion).
  • Do not mark jobs complete while work is pending, or pressure customers to confirm before work is finished.
  • Genuine parts and correct installation practices must be used. Shortcuts that create safety risks are grounds for termination and indemnity claims.

9. Customer data — use only for the job

  • You may access customer name, phone, address, and booking details solely to fulfil the assigned job and post-job support within Platform channels.
  • You must not store, copy, export, or reuse customer contact details for marketing, soliciting direct business, WhatsApp groups, or referral schemes outside the Platform.
  • Do not share customer PII with third parties except as necessary to complete the job (e.g. genuine parts supplier delivery to the same address) and with minimal disclosure.
  • Secure your device. Log out of Technician accounts on shared phones. Report data leaks or lost devices immediately.
  • Detailed privacy duties are in our Technician Privacy Policy and the Platform Privacy Policy.

10. Payments, advances, final payment, settlement & tips

  • Customers may pay via Platform checkout (prepaid / partial advance), pay-after-visit, wallet, UPI, card, or cash where explicitly enabled. Follow in-app payment status before treating a job as paid.
  • Advances collected through the Platform are applied to the final invoice. Do not collect duplicate advances off-platform for the same booking.
  • Customers pay the service amount plus applicable GST. Your Technician payout is calculated on the service amount only: the Platform retains a platform fee (default 30% of the service amount unless your Fee Schedule states otherwise) and you receive the remaining share (default 70%). GST collected from the customer is retained by the Platform and is not part of your payout. Refunds, penalties, or chargebacks may further adjust settlements as shown in your statement.
  • Settlement timelines (e.g. T+2 to T+7 business days after job completion and verification) depend on payment mode, dispute holds, and bank holidays. We are not liable for delays caused by incorrect bank details or bank processing.
  • Keep valid bank account / UPI payout details in your profile. Payouts are made only to verified accounts in your name or your registered business entity.
  • Tips, if offered through the Platform, are voluntary and passed through according to current Platform rules (which may credit your wallet in full or after a small processing fee). Tips must not be demanded or conditioned on service quality.
  • Disputes on amounts owed must be raised through support with job ID and evidence within the stated dispute window.

11. Rate cards & platform pricing rules

  • Labour, visit charges, and standard task prices are governed by the Rate card for your city and category unless a custom quote is approved in-app.
  • You must not charge customers above approved Platform prices for standard catalogue tasks unless additional scope is diagnosed and consented as per Section 7.
  • Promotional discounts, membership benefits, or coupons are funded per Platform rules — you may not refuse honouring displayed customer prices for eligible bookings.
  • Material / parts markup limits, if any, are defined in the app or partner handbook. Excessive or hidden markups violate marketplace trust standards.
  • We may update Rate cards with notice. Continued job acceptance after notice constitutes acceptance of updated pricing frameworks.

12. Spare parts authenticity & warranty disclosure

  • Use genuine or fit-for-purpose parts appropriate to the appliance or system. Do not install knowingly counterfeit, unsafe, or banned components.
  • Disclose whether parts are OEM, compatible, or refurbished, and provide warranty duration (manufacturer / seller / your labour warranty) before installation.
  • Share invoices, serial numbers, or warranty cards with the customer and upload copies when the Platform requests them.
  • If a part fails within the stated warranty, support replacement or repair per your disclosure and Platform policy.
  • Maurya Service is not the manufacturer of third-party parts; your disclosures and receipts are primary for part warranty claims, subject to Platform mediation.

13. Non-solicitation & non-circumvention

For Platform-originated jobs, you agree:

  • Not to solicit customers to book, pay, or renew services off-platform for the same or related need during the job and for 12 months after the job completion date (or longer if mandated in onboarding addenda).
  • Not to share personal payment links, QR codes, or “direct discount” offers to bypass Platform fees for customers you met through Maurya Service.
  • Not to recruit Maurya Service customers for competing apps using contact data obtained from bookings.

Customers remain free to choose any provider. This clause restricts your active circumvention, not organic customer choice. Breach may result in account termination, forfeiture of pending payouts tied to fraudulent circumvention, and recovery of lost Platform fees where permitted by law.

14. Background checks & ongoing compliance

  • We may conduct or re-run background verification (identity, criminal records where legally available, reference checks) directly or via vendors. You consent to such checks as a condition of onboarding and periodic compliance.
  • You must notify us within 7 days of any event affecting eligibility: conviction in a relevant criminal offence, loss of licence, insolvency, or change of legal name / bank account.
  • Cooperate with audits, mystery checks, and customer complaint investigations. Provide job photos, call logs (metadata only where privacy restricts content), and parts proofs when requested.
  • Compliance with GST, labour, and local municipal rules for your trade remains your obligation.

15. Suspension & termination

We may suspend, limit, or terminate your Technician account immediately (with or without notice) if you:

  • Breach these Technician Terms, Platform Terms, or privacy duties;
  • Receive repeated poor ratings, verified complaints, or safety incidents;
  • Engage in fraud, fake jobs, collusion, off-platform payments, or identity misrepresentation;
  • Fail KYC / background re-verification; or
  • Are inactive or unresponsive for extended periods while listed as available.

You may request voluntary deactivation via support. Termination does not waive amounts you owe (chargebacks, penalties, indemnity). Eligible earned payouts for undisputed completed jobs will be processed subject to holds for open complaints or legal requirements.

16. Indemnity & liability for damage during service

  • You are liable for physical damage, property loss, or injury caused by your negligence, unsafe practices, or unauthorised work during a service visit.
  • You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Maurya Service, its officers, and affiliates against claims, fines, and costs arising from your acts/omissions, misrepresentation, off-platform dealings, harassment, or violation of law — except to the extent caused by our gross negligence or wilful misconduct.
  • Report incidents (water leak, electrical short, appliance damage) to the customer and Platform immediately with photos. Do not leave a hazardous situation unaddressed.
  • Platform liability caps in the general Terms & Conditions apply to Maurya Service’s role as marketplace. Your on-site workmanship liability is not limited by those caps.
  • Where applicable consumer protection law assigns responsibility differently, those mandatory provisions prevail.

17. Confidentiality & intellectual property

  • Platform software, Rate cards, customer lists, algorithms, training materials, and non-public policies are our confidential information or licensors’ IP. You may not copy, scrape, reverse engineer, or disclose them.
  • Customer reviews, job photos uploaded to the Platform, and service data may be used by us for quality, disputes, marketing, and analytics as described in privacy policies.
  • You grant us a licence to use your business name, photo, ratings, and service history on the Platform for promotion of your profile and the marketplace.
  • Do not use Maurya Service trademarks except as permitted in official partner assets.

18. Dispute resolution & governing law

  • Internal disputes (payouts, ratings, penalties) should first be raised via in-app support / email with job IDs and evidence. We will attempt good-faith resolution within reasonable timelines.
  • If unresolved, parties may pursue remedies under applicable law. Nothing prevents either party from seeking urgent injunctive relief for fraud, IP misuse, or data breaches.
  • This Agreement is governed by the laws of India.
  • Subject to mandatory consumer or small-business protections, courts at New Delhi, India (including courts having jurisdiction over our registered office area) shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
  • Where permitted, we may offer optional mediation or arbitration for commercial disputes between Service Providers and the Platform; such process will be communicated separately if invoked.

This Agreement works together with:

We may update these Technician Terms. Material changes will be notified via app, SMS, email, or dashboard notice. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance. Previous versions apply to disputes arising from earlier jobs.
